How can I allow remote access to local Endpoint manager?

Endpoint can be configured to allow remote access to local manager using a public IP address or a domain name.

When Endpoint runs on PC with a public configured interface, Endpoint could be accessed from outside of the network using the public IP address.

Note

Firewall must configured to allow inbound access over 8000 port.

ie:

-----------------------------------------------

eth0:

inet 178.22.10.155 netmask 255.255.255.248 broadcast 78.47.10.159

eth1:

inet 10.0.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 10.0.0.255

-----------------------------------------------

Endpoint will be listening on the public IP address 178.22.10.155 as well as local address 10.0.0.1 (and 127.0.0.1).

If firewall allows access to port 8000, you will be able to reach Endpoint at this address:

http://178.22.10.155:8000

When Endpoint is running behind a router with a private IP address, you can access Local Manager using the domain name and port forwarding.

To reach that Endpoint you would need to forward the 8000 port activity to the PC you want and add the domain name to the isf.local file.

Note

Endpoint must be configured to know that domain.

You would need to add public_fqdn variable under isf.local file:

[isf.local]

.

.

public_fqdn:mydomain.net

Once configured, you will be able to reach Endpoint using the domain name:

http://mydomain.net:8000
